The studio at Yarra Bend Gallery Yarra Bend Gallery Studio Red and White Lines, 2015, oil and enamel on canvas, 137 x 122 cm. Red and White Lines, 2015 is a painting more directly linked to notions of landscape while still remaining abstract. A painting can take a number of months to complete. The final layer affect of this painting was created using a technique known as wet into wet where the top layer of marks are dragged through the semi-dry under painting. It creates an immediacy and differing brush weights which are hard to achieve another way. This work is available at Yarra Bend Gallery.

Small works

Image
From 2010-12 I painted a series of works entitled 'over the edge' which were exhibited in London, Hong Kong, Auckland and throughout Australia. The work was based on observations of city marks (line marking, facade decoration) and the edges of surfaces such as concrete. Black Stripe, Black Line, private collection, NSW. Black Stripe, Black Line,  close up. ' Black Line, Black Stripe , oil, enamel, PVA and pigment on canvas, 44 x 35 cm.

The colours are also for me the colours of Siena in Italy where I was fortunate to travel to in 2013. Grey, White and Sienna in its apartment home.
